BabyName Match ("we", "our", "the app") is a name-matching tool for expectant couples. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. We keep this simple.

We do not collect payment information, precise location (GPS), contacts, or any sensitive personal data. We do not sell data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

Swipe votes and matches — stored and synced between you and your partner so the app works. Votes are tied to your room code, not your identity.
Email address — stored but not used for any emails unless you explicitly opt in during registration. If you opted in, you may receive occasional product update emails. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
IP and device data — used only for aggregate, anonymous analytics (e.g. "500 rooms created this month, 60% from mobile"). Never used for targeted advertising or sold.
Aggregate analytics — we track which names are popular across all users in aggregate only. No individual user's votes are shared or exposed.

3. Google and Apple Sign-In

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive your password or payment information. Your use of those sign-in services is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising

BabyName Match uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained until you delete your account. Anonymous analytics data (sessions, aggregated swipe counts) is retained indefinitely for product analysis. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

Access to the personal data we hold about you
Correction of inaccurate data
Deletion of your account and personal data
Withdrawal of consent to marketing emails
Objection to processing

7. Third-Party Services

Google AdSense — advertising. See Google Privacy Policy.
ip-api.com — IP geolocation for anonymous analytics. No personal data is shared with ip-api.com beyond the IP address. See ip-api.com legal.
Google OAuth / Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in providers.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Room codes are randomly generated and unguessable. We do not store plaintext passwords or payment data.

9. Children

BabyName Match is intended for adults (expectant parents). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
